I purchased the SC899F for use at our church and church school, so it is being used in a "commercial" application. Commercial Vac kindly assisted in the decision making over a two period with the purchase of two vacs (this, and the SC684F). This Sanitaires were not their first choice for our application, but decided due to limited funds and the need for an easy to maintain commercial vac, these two models were our best bet. Commercial Vac gave us a great price and free shipping. The two vacs arrived well packaged one day following the order. The SC899 was easy to assemble and we tested it at our home, and it works great. It is a bit wide for our home, but the wife fell in love with it. Due to past experience with users not emptying paper bags, we decided on the shake-out bag, and it is working out fine. It is a no frills, easy to maintain, relatively lightweight vacuum and is working very well. Love the 50' cord, the 16" wide track, ease in cleaning the bag, and its light weight. Though I am not the normal user of the vac, I used it this week to vacuum the church fellowship hall and it did a great job. Evidently school/church kids had tracked in a bunch of small pebbles and the vac had a hard time picking them up. But other than that, it did a great job. We also like the two step handle lowering feature, the second stop drops the handle parallel with the floor for getting under pews, tables, and so forth. Another reason for purchasing this vac was the ease in replacing belts and the availability of routine replacement items. Could not be easier unless the Commercial Vac guys did it for us. Could not be happier with the service of Commercial Vac, or this vacuum. The SC899F and SC684F are an incredible value.
